All about

I'm currently working at ConSol Consulting & Solutions Software GmbH as a software developer. I'm mostly working on backend systems in Java and front-end projects with JavaScript frameworks like Angular, all in combination with relational databases.

While working on these projects I'm trying to rely on open source software. The open source community is constantly working on improving tools which power many modern software systems, which is why I'm also trying to contribute to open source projects I'm into.

In addition to my job as a software developer I'm also actively participating in our in-house academy and various Meetups hosted in our rooms.

You can find a more detailed description of my current projects in my CV.

After my training in mechanical engineering I pursued my B.Eng. at the OTH Regensburg. By the end of 2016 I received my M.Sc. degree in computer science from FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. While studying for my M.Sc. I also published a paper on historical document analysis at the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing.

My education has earned me a solid knowledge in various fields, ranging from mechanical engineering to electrical engineering and computer science.

I own several bikes and like to spend my spare-time out on trails. Alternatively, I also enjoy runs in the nearby forests. When I'm not outside, I'm working out in a gym and also play Squash on a (semi) regular basis.

Sport allows me to relax. Spending time in the nature gives me new energy to focus on my work.

I love to work with and create new software. It's a way to express my creativity and so I always come up with (sometimes nerdy) projects to work on when I'm not working on university related things. This way I've already gained experience in building:

  • Machine learning / image processing systems

  • REST interfaces

  • Dynamic websites

  • Android applications

  • Distributed systems

Take a look at the projects section, if you want to.

I love books. No matter if printed or digital, technical or not, I'm always up for a good read.

I mostly enjoy science fiction and thrillers, but my subscription at a technical publisher also gives me access to countless technical books.
